Ella Shahbazian is a student, author, nonprofit founder, and community advocate dedicated to creating meaningful change through youth-led leadership. A 4.3 GPA high school student and dual-enrollment college scholar, she blends academic excellence with a deep commitment to service, justice, and equal opportunity for all young people.
Ella is a recipient of the Congressional Award at the Bronze and Silver levels, a federally chartered, non-partisan recognition created by the United States Congress to honor sustained commitment to community service, leadership development, personal growth, and physical fitness. She earned these distinctions through multi-year service and leadership efforts. The Gold level is currently in progress.
Through her nonprofit, Ella’s Angels, she leads community initiatives, supports vulnerable populations, and empowers youth to step into leadership roles. Her work includes organizing service projects, coordinating community partnerships, and developing programs designed to create lasting, measurable impact.
Ella is also the author of The Real-Life Financial Resource Guide for Youth and Justice for Teens, reflecting her mission to educate, inform, and uplift her generation. As she continues expanding her academic and advocacy work, she is pursuing her long-term goal of becoming an attorney focused on children’s rights and social justice.
Ella maintains a 4.0 GPA in high school and college dual enrollment while completing advanced programs with Yale, Harvard, Penn, Geneva, and the University of London.
As the founder of Ella’s Angels, she leads large-scale service projects—including holiday meal drives, hospital toy donations, humane society support initiatives, and youth outreach programs.
Through her books and civic involvement, Ella helps teens understand their rights, build confidence, and become leaders in their own communities.
Ella’s athletic training reflects sustained discipline and long-term commitment developed alongside advanced academics and leadership responsibilities. Over seven years of competitive swimming at Waterworks Aquatics (Pasadena, California), she completed all twelve progressive levels, culminating in lifeguard-level certification, demonstrating endurance, technical precision, and responsibility in aquatic safety.
She trained in karate for four years at Ken Nagayama Martial Arts, earning a Blue Belt through consistent practice emphasizing focus, respect, and self-discipline. In tennis, Ella pursued private instruction at the Burbank Tennis Center under Steve Starrleaf, a former professional player and certified coach, before competing for one season on the varsity tennis team at Rose & Alex Pilibos Armenian School. Across all sports, she balanced rigorous training with academic excellence and community leadership.
